He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Hermann Dirks and Maria Dirks (Dueck); his former life partner Tina Janzen; his wife Doris Rempel; his sons, Randall (Agatha) and Steven; his stepchildren, Allan Rempel (Stephanie), Angela RempelEwert (Bret) and Stephen Nighswander-Rempel (Heidi); his grandchildren, Paul, Maria, Timothy, Elisabeth, Katie, Angel, Cailey, Benjamin, Nicholas and Grayson; and his brother Waldemar Dirks (Gloria). He was also cherished by relatives and friends.
