He was predeceased by: his son Richard; his parents, Stefan Karpenko and Maria Karpenko; and his siblings, Peter (Jennifer), John, Mike (Debbie), Lena (Alex) and Helena.
He is survived by: his brother Stevie; his son Paul Christopher Karpenko (Stacie); his grandchildren, Brooke, Abbie, Austin and Carson; and his siblings, Bill, Mary, Verna (Henry) and Lydia (Dave).
