He was predeceased by: his father Mervin; his father-in-law Clarence Penno; and his brother-in-law Wayne Stansall. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his son Merv (Michelle); his grandchildren, Avery, Connor, Hunter and Sophie; his daughter Lindsay Koslowsky (Jotham); his grandchildren, Hannah, Noah and Kaleb; his mother Alice Fry; his siblings, Lillian Bertholet (Marty), Boxer (Maureen), Geri Stansall and Monica (Conrad); his mother-in-law Violet Penno; and his sister-in-law Deborah Penno Bento. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
