She is survived by: her husband Les; her children, Trisha and Jason; and her grandchildren, Nachelle, Nicaela, Joshua, Rylee, Kenzie, Jaidan and Evan.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or to St. Joseph the Worker Church (Transcona) in Rita's memory.
