He was predeceased by: his wife Clara; his parents, Theodor and Emma; and his brothers, Willi and Robert.

He is survived by: his sons, Harold (Sylvi), Robert (Lynda) and Richard; his grandchildren, Victoria (Youri), Christopher (Alessia), Jonathan (Laura), Darius (Jackie), Megan and Jordan; and his cousin Harley. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
