He was predeceased by: his parents, Murray Cawston and Ada Cawston; his stepfather Jim Bovair; and his siblings, Louise McComb, Connie Hill, Joan Cawston, George Cawston and Mihlan Cawston.

He is survived by: his wife Nicole Cawston; his daughter Michelle (Glenn); his grandchildren, Adam and Kirsty; his daughter Cheryl (Troy); and his grandchildren, Madisson, Katelynne and Johnathan. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
