He was predeceased by: his wife Audrey Lillian Proutt (Leichbrecht); his parents, Muriel Florence Serle of Strathclair, MB and Goldwyn Ernest Proutt of Ephinstone, MB; his siblings, Gene, Gordon, Earl, Noreen and Sara; and his grandparents, Eliza Bone, James Proutt, Sarah Ann Serle and Walter D. Serle.

He is survived by: his children, Brian, Louise (Jim) and Lynn (Craig); and his foster brothers, Doug and Warren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
