He was predeceased by: his parents, John DeFries and Edmondine DeFries; and his brother Lionel. He is survived by: his wife Carol; his sons, Wally (Pat) and Gregory; his grandchildren, Emily, Cole and Tucker; his siblings, Inez, Danny (Elaine) and Connie; his siblings-in-law, Wilf (Susie) and Michele (Brian); his niece Sara (Ryan); and his great-niece Paisley.
