He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Russell and Annie Russell (Barry); his sons, George and Wayne; and his siblings, Rita, Theresa, Helena, Lloyd, Raymond, Alvin and Robert.

He is survived by: his wife Joanne Russell (MacDonald) of Bartibog Bridge; his children, Thomas Russell (Jeanne) and Wanda Williams (George); his siblings, Bernice Doucet and Blake Russell (Janice); his sister-in-law Angela Russell; his granddaughters, Sharon-Lynn (Brett), Julia and Amy; and his great grandchildren, Lily, Khloe, Joshua and Jaxon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
