She was predeceased by: her husband Donald W. Smith of Bathurst; her parents, Horace Barron and Selma Barron (Mitton); and her sister Ellen Sutherland. She is survived by: her children, Krista Metcalfe (Peter) of Lower Sackville, NS and Darren Smith (Dianne) of Mill River, P. E. I.; and her grandchildren, Noah, Jonathan, Jacob, Matthew, Nathan, Thomas and Benjamin.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Elhatton's Funeral Home (187 St George St, Bathurst, NB E2A 1B6). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Elhatton's Funeral Home Chapel (187 St George St, Bathurst, NB E2A 1B6).
Donations in memory of Janice may be made to the Campbellton Baptist Church, St. Luke's Presbyterian Church or a favorite charity.
