She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Branch and Beatrice Branch (Black); her former husband Glendon Knowles; her husband Al Gallant; and her siblings, Carl, Murray, Blair (late Linda) and Connie Leslie (late Fred).

She is survived by: her children, Brenda Branch (late James) and Jack Knowles (Gloria) of Bathurst; her grandchildren, Darryl Branch of Big River, Keri Knowles (Jason) of Ste. Anne and Collen Knowles (Myles) of Salmon Beach; her great grandchildren, Acasha, Sierra, Blake and Ella; her siblings, Harper (late Phyllis) of Janeville, Mirns (Kathryn) of Big River and Dawn Branch (Emery) of Ste. Therese; and her sisters-in-law, Joan Branch of Atikokan and Peggy Branch of Youghall. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In Muriel's memory, donations may be made to Saint George's Anglican Church or a memorial of one's choice.
