He was predeceased by : his parents, Peter Maher and Hannah Maher (Regan); and his siblings, Mildred Kane (Richard), Helen Thompson (Earle), Peter Maher, Orval Maher (Betty Landry) and Wesley Maher (Jean Doucet).

He is survived by : his wife Patricia Maher (Taylor); and his children, Blake (Sabine Bittner), Ann (Steven Weary), Kelly, John (Sally Driscoll) and Kerry (Ben Rivard). He is also survived by grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
