He was predeceased by: his parent Michel Bélanger; and his siblings, Jeanine, Lucienne, Marielle, Solange, Rino and Laurien.

He is survived by: his parent Délia LaPlante; his sons, Stéphane of Halifax, NS. and François (Caroline Aubé) of LaPlante; his siblings-in-law, Ronald Bélanger (late Marielle), Guilmond Ouellette (late Lucienne) and Jacqueline Bélanger (late Laurien); and his mother-in-law Léona Noël. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
