He was predeceased by: his spouse Pauline Smith (Lavigne) of Garden St; his parent Fred Smyth; and his siblings, Otis Smyth and Violet Smyth. He is survived by: his parent Gladys Smyth (Parks); his children, Susan McKinnon (Peter), Wayne Smith (Shawn), Karen Dupuis (Guy), Marilyn Smith and Donald Smith (Dorothy Elzinga) of Edmonton, AB.; and his grandchildren, Shelley, Michael, Jennifer, Krista, Holly, Otis, Evan, Derek, Kelsey, Scott and Dylan.

Donations in memory of Rufus may be made to the St. George's Anglican Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
