He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Reta DeMerchant and Ervin Johnson; his sisters, Jean McGilligan and Sheila Johnston; his siblings-in-law, Marilyn Johnston and Gerald Ferguson; his children, Leroy McCarty (Adeline), Larry McCarthy (Lucie), David McCarthy (Tina), Dwayne McCarty (Leanna), Sheila Froude (Dennis) and Jeremy McCarty (Dona); and his siblings, Brian Johnston (Beverly), Louis Johnston (Diane), Dougie Johnston (Mada), Carl Johnston (Noella), Gerald Johnston (Cindy), Jimmy Johnston (Pat), Lois Watson (Albert), Anita Finnamore (Eugene), Mildred Jalbert (Clark), Randy Johnston, Richard Johnston (Marilyn), Paul Johnston (Helene) and Viola Ferguson. He was also cherished by 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.
