He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Whelton Sr. and Mary Louise Whelton (Thompson); his siblings, Dorothy, Nina, Mildred, Nora, Helen, Bernadine, Bedford, Willard, George, Byron, Vincent, Edward, Donald and Joseph; and his nieces and nephews, Thomas Sisk, Vincent Whelton Jr., Clary Wilbur, Martina Riordon and Carmel Whelton.

He is survived by: his sisters, Caroline and Mary. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
