He was predeceased by: his parents, Burns Medford and Edna Irene Leavitt (Trynor); his sister Betty; and his stepgrandson Nicholas Nodding. He is survived by: his wife Glenna Marie Leavitt (O'Neill) of Blacks Harbour, NB; his sons, Mike Leavitt (Lorena) of Beaver Harbour, NB and Rick Leavitt (Bev) of Blacks Harbour, NB; his grandchildren, Megan Vance (Dwayne), Ian Leavitt (Lindsey), Ryan Leavitt (Lorissa), Griffin Leavitt (Amanda), Daniel Leavitt (Amber), Mark (Tanya) and Jacalyn (Daniel); his great grandchildren, Tessa, Mya, Dylan, Liam, Phin, Reese, Cove, Benjamin and Josslyn; and his close friend Greg Glennie.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Stella Maris Catholic Church Cemetery (172 Wallace Cove Rd, Blacks Harbour, NB E5H1H1). A burial was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026.
