He was predeceased by : his parents, Vernon Hicks and Lillian Hicks (Arsenault); his daughter Verena; and his stepson Rhéal. He is survived by : his wife Viola Hicks (Duplessis); his children, Vicky Maillet (Steven) and Bobby (Rita) of Bouctouche; his grandsons, Joey, Jeremy, Jason and Kevin; his great grandchildren, Maxime, Annika, Bailey, Scarlett and Arya; and his brother Verena Basque (Rodrigue) of Blackville. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces.
