He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Anson Brewer Staples and Teresa Pauline Staples (Crouse); his wife Lillian Staples (Conley); his children, Geoffrey Staples (Rose), Rodney T. Staples and Karen L. Williams (Mark); his grandchildren, Nathan Staples (Katrina), Jordan Staples (Kayla), Logan Staples, Amanda Collicott (Eric), Leah Merrill (Phillip) and Paige Staples; his great grandchildren, Caleb Staples, Kyle Staples, Colin Staples, Isabelle Merrill, Benjamin Merrill, Winrey Staples, William Staples, Jack Staples, Archer Staples and Finn Staples; his brothers, Winston (Donna) and Lowell (Shirley); his siblings-in-law, Ida Pugh, Audrey Pugh, Medford E. Conley (Elaine), Joseph K Pugh and Cedric A. Pugh; and his friend Jerry Hawkes. He was also cherished by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Donations can be made to the Burtts Corner Christian Church, the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Association, the New Brunswick Lung Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
