He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Austin Newell and Margaret Elizabeth Ross; and his siblings, Gerry, Austin, Dasil, Doreen, Glenora and Marlene.
He is survived by: his sons, Steven (Lori) of Knoxville, Tennessee and Jamie (Tina) of Campbellton; and his grandchildren, Anthony Newell of Dalhousie and Anjulie Newell of Dalhousie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the heart and stroke foundation would be appreciated by the family.
