He was predeceased by: his wife Pauline Smollett (Dickie); his parents, Dewey Smollett and Hilda Smollett (Ray); and his brothers, Ray (Marian O'Meara), Gerald (Doreen Watt) and Lloyd.

He is survived by: his children, Heather Lynn Cortes, June F. Smollett and David L. Smollett; his grandchildren, Phil Cortes (Valerie) and Eve-Lynn Smollett; and his great grandchildren, Lionel and Paul Cortes. He is also survived by extended family members and friends.
