He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Barnaby Tonkin and Robert Wayne Tonkin Sr.; his siblings, Carol Ann Tonkin, Michelle Root and Floyd Tonkin; and his nephew Adam Root.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred Metallic; his nieces, Cassandra Hall (Gregory Wysote) and Danielle Root; his niece Natasha Riley Root (Jessie Riley Root); and also Gabby. He is also survived by cousins and friends.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mahers Chapel. A funeral service was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
