He was predeceased by: his parents, Marjorie Phillips (DeWitt) and Leland Phillips; his wife Deborah Phillips (Tracy); and his brothers, Dwight and Douglas.
He is survived by: his children, Trudy Mersereau (Jason) and Chris (Lisa); his siblings, Marilyn Cleghorn and Dale Phillips (Gail Powell); his grandchildren, Brooklyn, Dexter, Dawson, Taylor, Katlin, Alexandra, Grace and Carly; and his great grandchild Cameron. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
