He was predeceased by : his parents, Archibald Smith and Edna Smith (Vail); his children, Marie and Luke; his grandson John Robert; and his siblings, Arthur, Bruce Chase and Winnifred Barton.

He is survived by : his wife Doreen (Leckey); his children, John (Sandy), Adam (Pam) and Charlene (David); and his grandchildren, Katelyn, Angela Smith of Tabitha, AJ and Timothy Cameron. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First Cambridge Baptist Church (11 Church Ln, Cambridge-Narrows, NB E4C1Y1). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the First Cambridge Baptist Church are appreciated by the family.
