He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Long and Vera Long (Simpson); his siblings, Hartley, Lloyd, Mabel Baxter, Evelyn Steen, Viola McAllister and Edith Attoe; and his siblings-in-law, Murray Steen, Aubrey McAllister, George Baxter, John Attoe, Alfred Acott and Marvel Tribe.

He is survived by: his children, Dale Long (Nancy) and Bonnie Brake (Sandy); his grandchildren, Khaleesi, Julianne and Rickilee; his siblings, Donald Long, Doris Nelson, Glenna Simpson (Jim), Joan Acott and Clara MacLeod (Aubrey); and his sister-in-law Margaret Long.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Snider Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery.
