He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan Clowater and Elva Clowater (Price); his niece Michelle Johnston; and his nephew Adam Clowater. He is survived by: his wife Lorna; his sons, Barry (Dawn) and Jamie (Jennifer); his siblings, Penny McAleer (Johnny), Jane Calhoun (Jerry) and Ricky (Marie); and his granddaughter Alexa Clowater. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
