He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Legassie and Myrtle Legassie (Clark); his daughter-in-law Cathy Legassie; his grandchildren, Wayne Legassie and Chassity Hughes; and his siblings, Lester, Ronnie, Merton, Leona Clark and Aleta Huestis.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Legassie; his children, Daniel Legassie, Janet Darrah (Bill), Bonnie Hasson (Mark), Shari Legassie (Mike) and Carmen Dickenson (Jeff); and his sister Murial Ward. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
