He was predeceased by: his parents, Randolph Crowell and Annie Crowell (Rice); his wife Shirley Crowell (Kennedy); and his brothers, Clyde Crowell (Terry) and Lorne (Sally).

He is survived by: his daughter Gail Carroll (Jim); his grandchildren, Dayna Carroll (Nadim), Amanda Carroll and Tyler Carroll; his great grandchildren, Maya Zaidi and Leena Zaidi; and his siblings, Dorothy Turnbull (Ray), Geneva Crowell, Marilyn Qualley (Verne), Patricia Smith (Ed) and Kevin Crowell (Sharon).
