He was predeceased by : his wife Jean Julia Donovan (O'Donnell) of Route; his parents, George Donovan and Frances Donovan (Thompson); and his siblings, Stephen Donovan, Marcella Donahue, Bernadine Underhill, Katherine Whalen, Betty Hogan and Gladys Barrieau.

He is survived by : his children, Lisa Donovan of Millerton, Lexie Shaddick (Jason) of Miramichi, Ian Donovan and Greg Donovan (Lou-Anne) of Renous; his sister Rita Manderville (late Carman) of Renous; and his grandson Evan Shaddick.
