She was predeceased by: her parents, Jude LeBlanc and Bertha LeBlanc (LeBlanc); her husband Raymond Melanson; her sons, Robert Melanson and Gary Melanson; and her siblings, Alfred LeBlanc, René LeBlanc, Norman LeBlanc, Edgar LeBlanc, Annie LeBlanc, Dora McGinity and Lorraine Richard.

She is survived by: her children, Joanne Bourque (late Pierre), Francis Melanson (Phyllis), Jean-Denis Melanson (Paulette) and Pauline Magee (Robert); her daughter-in-law Denise Melanson; her brother Yvon LeBlanc (Thérèse); her sisters-in-law, Hermance and Irène LeBlanc; her grandchildren, Michael, Bourque (Catherine Côté), Nadine Paulin (Georgio), Nathalie Melanson-Kelly (Mike), Renée Melanson, Suzanne Melanson-Stewart (Denis), Marc Melanson (Shannon), Melissa Magee (Mike Martin) and Mathieu Melanson; and her great grandchildren, Riley, Henri, Catherine, Alex, Jacob, Janelle, Thomas and Myles. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
