It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Merlyn Watson McNeill (Douglas, New Brunswick), who passed away on March 8, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Watson McNeill and Nellie McNeill (White); his wife Rena McNeill (MacDonald); his sister Miriam Hanson (McNeill); his brother-in-law Ken Hanson; his brother Vernon McNeill; his siblings-in-law, Gladys Underhill (George), Hazel McDougall (Lucious), Helen Greer (Granville), Elva Pratt (Richard), Frances Carney (Rodney), Harold MacDonald (Doris), Doug MacDonald (Velma), Clarence MacDonald (Margaret) and Robert Bubar; and his stepson Eugene McKay (Gene).

He is survived by: his grandchildren, Kelly Walton (Shawn), Nicole Johnson (Shawn) and Leanne Reid (Rob); his great grandchildren, Danielle (Matt), Isaac, Claire, Jared, Anna and Marlee; his sisters-in-law, Karen McNeill and Shirley Bubar; his nieces, Heather, Jennifer (Paul) and Linda (Dale); his stepchildren, David Lyons (Debbie), Jennifer Bastarache, Valerie MacDonald (Steve) and Gail Godin (Alyre); his stepgrandchildren, Dustin (Christie), Joey (Melanie), Jason (Josee), Thomas, Robert, James (Fiona), Danielle (Graham) and Emilynn (Brent); his stepgreat-grandchildren, Kaleb, Blake, Lilly, Amalia, Dylan, Sydney, Gwen, Sophie, Hudson and Oliver; his friend Jesus; his pet German Shepards; his grandson-in-law Rob Reid; his nephews, Jeffrey McNeill (Joanne), Darren Hanson (Linda), Gerald Pratt and Donnie Pratt; and his niece Joanne Pratt.

In lieu of flowers for those who wish, donations may be made to the Food Bank, Community Kitchen, Homeless Shelter or to a charity of their choice.
