He was predeceased by: his parents, George DeMerchant and Dorothy DeMerchant (Parsons); and his siblings, Joe, Gerald, Jean, Dianne, Linda and Georgina.

He is survived by: his sons, Jason, Dale (Jennifer) and Gerry Lee; his granddaughters, Madi and Miya; and his siblings, Frances, Sandra, Donna, David, Denise and Darren (Wendy). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
