It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Leonard W. Sparks (Florenceville, New Brunswick), who passed away on February 21, 2026, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elwood Sparks and Ella Sparks (Brown); his siblings, Gerald Sparks, Dianne Wortman and David Sparks; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Hawkes, Frank Mayville, Debbie and Elizabeth Sparks.
He is survived by: his wife Marie; his children, Jeff Sparks (Heidi), Christine Etherington (Tony), Angel Sparks (Clint Monson) and Doug Sparks (Katie); his grandchildren, Mikala Watson (Bob), Jessica Manuel, Vincent Etherington (Hanah Oflaherty), Emily Koester Abby Sparks (Peter), Nicholas Sparks (Bronwyn Edwards), Jeanette Etherington (Tori Maillet-Robichaud), Alyssa Sparks and Kage Sparks; his great grandchildren, Hudson, Silas, June, Logan and Rylan; and his siblings, Gerladine Hawthorne (Donald), Shirley Hawkes, Peggy Mayville, Tommy Sparks, Linda Chase, Peter Sparks and John Sparks. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 24th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the L. R. Giberson Funeral Directors (207 Burnham Rd, Florenceville-Bristol, NB E7L1Z1). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 25th 2026 at 2:00 PM.
