He was predeceased by: his wife Wanda; his daughter Lynn; his parents, Fred Petersen and Christina Petersen; and his siblings, Pauline (Norman Christensen), Leona (Lawrence Sowers), Alice (Walter Jensen), Marguerite (Perley Petersen), Helen, Hally Hansen, Nancy (Ron Arnold) and Fred Junior Basil (Betty).

He is survived by: his stepdaughter Rosanna; his granddaughter Madison McQuinn (William); and his siblings, Wayne Petersen, Harley Petersen (Penny), Lorene Taylor, Jayne Many (Charlie Smith) and Laurel Christensen Many.
