He was predeceased by: his wife Ethel Mary Rutledge of Fredericton, NB.; his parent Lillian Rutledge; his granddaughter Lily Ann Burge; and his sisters, Lois Stone, Ada Payne and Kay Bridgeo.
He is survived by: his parent Harris Rutledge; his children, Mary Towers (Terry) of Tucson, AZ and Ernest Rutledge Jr. (Heather) of Plaster Rock, NB; and also Judy Rutledge-Shipman (Gary) of Tucson, AZ. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
