He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Leslie Saunders and Nellie Saunders (Brewer); his wife Faye; his children, Shirley Munn (Cedric) of Fredericton, Audrey Joudrey of Fredericton, Carl (Ginette) of Dartmouth, NS and Lyle of Fredericton; his grandchildren, Jeff Munn, Stephen, Brian, Paul Joudrey, Michael Saunders, Melissa Morgan and Suzanne Robichaud; his sisters, Dorothy McNeill, Muriel Ashfield (James), Kaye Holyoke, Helen Jacobs (Edward) and Enid Pugh; his siblings-in-law, Marjorie Saunders, Glenna Brewer, Muriel Estey, Fred Wilkins and Paul Estey; his children, Donald and Helen; his siblings, Wilson, Murray, Irvine and Klyne Wilkins; and his grandchildren, Lisa, Shelley and Anthony Saunders. He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
