With sadness, we share the passing of Joan Louise Lyons (Fredericton, New Brunswick). Joan, born on October 2, 1936, passed away on August 26, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Eldon Lyons; her parents, Bernard Stafford and Amanda Stafford (Lyons); her son Randy; her grandson James; her siblings, Grace Dunphy (Frank), Rita Hawkins (Bedford), Murray "Bill" (Olive), May Madeline, Cecil (Aletha), Ron (Ella), Evelyn Lyons (Millett), Doug (Grace), Joyce Kennedy (Hugh), Jean Lyons (Blair), Hilton "Hud" (Ruby), Frances, Richard (Yvonne), Carl "Pat" (Alda) and Helen Watson (Robert); and her in-laws, Blair Lyons (Jean), Millet Lyons (Evelyn), Gracie, Haley Lyons (Mary), Isabelle Cleveland (Frank), Mannie Lyons (Barbara), Marion and Paul.
She is survived by: her children, Stephen (Lynn) and Wendy; her grandchildren, Julie Smith, Jenna Lyons and Patrick Walker (Haruna Tanaka); her great grandchildren, Kylee, Noah, Alexis and Halle; her brother Dale (Lucy); and her in-laws, Lena Palmer, Marvin Lyons (Nancy), Wanda Lyons and Yvonne Stafford. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the York Funeral Home (302 Brookside Dr, Fredericton, NB E3A5K2). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
