He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice V. Coy (Armstrong) and Edwin G. Coy; his brother Noel; his daughter-in-law Coleen Hopey; and his brother-in-law Darrell Seymour.
He is survived by: his wife Katherine "Kaye" Coy (Patterson); his son David Hopey; his grandson Nicholas Hopey; and his sister Evelyn Seymour. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
