He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Sowers and Leona Sowers (Peterson); and his brothers, Bobby and Wayne Sowers. He is survived by: his wife Joan (Chou-Chou); his children, Patricia Sowers and Philip (Bo); his grandchildren, Zachary, Phylicia (Daniel), Brett (Hannah), Jaxon, MacKenzie and McGuire (Autym); and his brother Dale Sowers (Jane). He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church (1500 Hanwell Rd, Fredericton, NB E3C1N3). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
For those who wish to make a memorial donation in Philips's memory, the family have suggested the NB Alzheimer's Society or the Fredericton SPCA.
