He was predeceased by: his parents, Geraldine Patterson (Dore) and Murray Patterson; his former wife Ena Patterson (Hyslop); his siblings, Mavis, Sadie, Gary, Zenus and Stanley; his brother-in-law Reg Goodine; and his son-in-law Karl Conrad.

He is survived by: his son Tim Patterson (Dianne) of Keswick Ridge; his siblings, Murray Patterson (Lorraine) of Fredericton, Shawn Patterson (Roxann) of Tay Creek, Terry Patterson (Mary) of Fredericton and Diana Goodine of Fredericton; his sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Patterson and Carol Patterson of Fredericton; his grandchildren, Jordan (Michelle), Melissa (Andrew Brooks), Bradley (Sarah), Laura (Brandon Cairns) and Kyle Patterson; his great grandchildren, Milo, Landen, Abel, Theo, Riley, Lydia, Blake, Lainey and Marty Ray; and his nieces, Joni Torunski (Stephen), Jane Conrad, Wanda Dunphy (Zach Hapeman) and Rebecca Dunphy. He is also survived by children and grandchildren.
