He was predeceased by: his parents, Doug and Marjorie (Foster); his siblings, Billy (Jean), Cecil (Margaret), Gloria Woolaver and Linda Seely (Dick); and his siblings-in-law, Wendy, Alma, Lorenzo and Cecil.

He is survived by: his wife Simone; his children, John (Angela), Penny (Devon) and Samantha (Cletus); his grandchildren, Naomi, Angie, Cameron and Lauren; his great grandchildren, Malachi, Isaiah, Ryker and Ellie; his sisters, Barb Miller (Ken) and Judy Preston (Don); and his siblings-in-law, Annette Hickey (Jimmy), Ulalie Hickey (Adolf), Jemma Hickey (Rodney), Claudette Peters (Tony), Angus Carrier (Madaline) and Wayne Carrier (Brenda).

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be giving to the Canadian Cancer Society, and the Standardbred Race Track Chaplaincy of Canada.
