He was predeceased by: his parents, Norval Kay and Florence Kay of Dorval; his brother Gary Kay; and his parents-in-law, Leo and Alice Poirier.

He is survived by: his wife Leona Marie Kay (Poirier); his children, Scott Kay (Kelly Stevens-Kay), Lisa MacKenzie (Stephen MacKenzie) and Robyn MacKenzie (Andrew MacKenzie); and his grandchildren, Garrett Kay (Maddie Jackman), Brett Kay, Grant MacKenzie (Sierra Coates), Jack MacKenzie (Sydney Grant) and Kate MacKenzie.

Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Ted's memory.
