We announce the death of Sharon Pauline Hicks of Fredericton, New Brunswick, who passed away on September 21, 2026, at the age of 79. Sharon will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Eveleigh Goodine and Pauline Goodine (Brayall); her husband Keith Hicks; her son James Hicks; her siblings, Joyce DeMerchant, Alberta McGinley, Rheba Gamblin and Clifton Goodine; her parents-in-law, Russell and Annie Hicks (Smith); her brothers-in-law, Jack DeMerchant and Eddie Prosser; her nephews, Michael DeMerchant and Lyle Gamblin; and her niece Leslie Gamblin.
She is survived by: her daughters, Christine van Driest and Patricia Bradshaw; her grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan Bradshaw, Christopher, Matthew and Sara van Driest; her sister Shelia Gillespie; and her siblings-in-law, Nancy Goodine, Marilyn Prosser (Hicks), Charlene Wornell (Keith) and Maurice Hicks. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the York Funeral Home (302 Brookside Dr, Fredericton, NB E3A5K2).
