William George Young Obituary

William (Bill) George Young, of Fredericton, NB passed away on June 1, 2025. He was born on January 7, 1949 to loving parents William and Dorothy (Maxwell) Young.

Aside from his parents, Bill was also predeceased by his brothers Gerald and Frank Young, sisters Marilyn Eales and Nancy Donahue, and brother-in-law Joseph Eales.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda (Burrell) Young; his children Tim Young, Karla Kennedy, Dawn Paul (Donnie), Stacey Beaton (Chris), and Dawn Prosser (Dustin); as well as several treasured grandchildren, Ben Shaw, Randi Thompson (Jeffery) Jessie Delong, Dylan Kennedy, Kali Beaton, Kolby Beaton, Kayla Dignam (Travis Foster), Keenan Dignam, Kylie Dignam, Gage Prosser, Eva Prosser, Steven Humphries (Cara Spencer), Trista Barker (Tyler) and great-grandchildren: (Ashtyn, Lennon, Josslyn, Lanna, Evan, Lochlyn, and Isaac); his brother-in-law Murray Donahue; his sister-in-law Claudia Young; and several nieces, nephews and good friends.

Bill's life was defined by an adventurous spirit, a sharp entrepreneurial mind, and an unwavering devotion to his family. In his younger years, Bill was a talented musician whose love of music forged lifelong friendships.

Gifted with a remarkable sense of humor and a contagious zest for life, he had a unique ability to bring joy, fun, and laughter to those around him. Above all, he was a devoted grandfather whose warmth and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visiting hours were held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service was held on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 2 pm with Donnie Savage officiating. Music was provided by Tim Gullison. A eulogy was delivered by Dawn Prosser and Laurie McNeil. A reception followed at the funeral home, followed by interment at Kingsclear Kilburn Community Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Michael Burrell, Travis Foster, Kent Parker, Dustin Prosser, Gage Prosser, and Uche Anyaegbu.

Honorary pallbearers were Renee Robichaud, Theresa Oladapo, Kayla Dignam, Keenan Dignam, and Kylie Dignam.

For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Bill, the family has suggested the Canadian Cancer Society or Kingsclear Kilburn Community Cemetery.

The family wishes to give their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses of 4 East at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Their kindness and compassion was appreciated beyond measure.
