He is survived by: his son Isaac; his wife Alyson; his parents, Susan Smith (Steve) and Kevin Cross (Brenda); his brother Tyler Scramstad-Smith; his grandparents, Stephen Héder (Susan) and Carolyn Kelly; his aunts and uncles, John Héder (Tara), Andrew Cross (Lisa), Jamie Cross, Martha Héder (Doug) and Judith Héder; his cousins, Naomi Héder, Kameron and Kierstyn Cross; his parents-in-law, Mike and Angela Boudreau; his siblings-in-law, Ashley, Michael and Cole Boudreau; Christina Portelli. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Matt's memory may be made to the Oromocto SPCA in honour of his beloved dog, Beau.
