She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Carten and Evelyn Carten; her siblings, David Carten and Shirley Carten; and her sisters-in-law, Shirley Boyer, Shirley Carten (Ralph), Dorothy Trecartin (David) and Bernice Trecartin (Eric).

She is survived by: her husband Murray DeMerchant; her sons, Anthony DeMerchant (Joyce) and Andrew DeMerchant (Melissa James); her grandchildren, Lucille, Elrie, Rainey, Cassie, Shianne, Levi, Ramona and Klay; her siblings, Marie Carten (Jeff Page), Eldon Carten (Sheila), John Carten, Lynn Cronje (David) and Laurie Donovan Brent (Michael); and her siblings-in-law, Kaye Grant (Doug), Deborah Ritchie (Cliff), Juanita Sprague (Lester), James Boyer (Joyce), Ken Boyer, Maynard DeLong (Cindy) and Matthew Cogswell (Angela). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
