John left this world on July 19, 2025 at the age of 72, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Allen and Clarissa Findlater (Henderson); his daughter Lorna; and his siblings, Marilyn Hamilton, Howard and Roy Findlater.

He is survived by: his wife Michelle Canam; his son Kael Findlater; his parents-in-law, Kendal and Anne Canam of Hillandale, NB; his pet Scooby; his children, Holly, Nick, Matthew and Bradley; and his siblings, Ruth Thompson of North Carolina, Marsha Kilcollins of Mars Hill, ME, Sharon Kennedy of Debec, NB, Gail Charlton of Kirkland, NB, Wayne Findlater of Alberta, Allison Findlater of Woodstock, NB, Dwayne Findlater of Saint John, NB and Austin Findlater of Kirkland, NB. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
