It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of David James Smith (Hopewell Cape, New Brunswick), born in Saint John, New Brunswick, who passed away on May 12, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Belva Smith (Dornan); and his siblings, Bill, Bob, Shirley and Phyllis.
He is survived by: his sons, Darrin Smith (Carey) of Riverview, Craig Smith (Wendy) of Ottawa, ON and Todd Smith (Paula) of Lower Coverdale; his grandchildren, Connor, Summer, Sierra, Erica, Peyton, Savannah, Sydney and Olivia; and his brother Bruce Smith (Marilyn) of Ottawa, ON.. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and, friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 15th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Albert County Funeral Home (4130 NB-114, Hopewell Cape, NB E4H). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 16th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church (2 Church St, Riverside-Albert, NB E4H3W8).
In lieu of flowers donations to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
