He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Grant and Mildred Grant (Wright); his former wife Muriel (Cummings); his son Christopher; and his sisters, Esta Corey, Marie Nicholson and Lavina Berube.

He is survived by: his wife Ada Gibson (Young); his children, Gregory (Ann), Preston (June) and Jane Jones (Kevin); his grandchildren, Jamie (Charlee), Joel, Asha, Phoebe and Maya; and his sisters, Zula Love (Ed), Janet C Grant (David), Shirley Cloutier, Sheila Grant McInnis and Tina Madore (Kevin). He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
