He was predeceased by : his parents, Garnet Girvan and Mildred Girvan (Morton); his brother Gary; and his sons, Michael and Rick Girvan.

He is survived by : his wife Paula (Thomas); his daughter Brenda (Carman McKeen); his daughter-in-law Dannette Girvan; his grandchildren, Hannah and Michael McKeen; his son Howard Paddock (Cynthia); his grandchildren, Jacob, Noah and Olivia; and his pet Molly. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
